Dr Jagger Harvey will present a seminar entitled

"Science on the front line: improving food security in Africa with the BecA-ILRI Hub."

Before movingo to the Biosciences East and Central Africa (BecA) hub in Nairobi, Kenya five years, ago, Dr Harvey was a post-doctoral researcher in the Baulcombe Lab. This institute is dedicated to the translation of molecular biology and biotechnology to benefit African farmers (especially smallholders) and to advanced training in biology and biotechnology for African scientists (http://hub.africabiosciences.org/).

Dr Harvey is a collaborator with Professor David Baulcombe, Professor Chris Gilligan and Dr John Carr on project to develop new strategies to combat aphid transmitted crop-infecting viruses in Africa:(http://hub.africabiosciences.org/activities/research/305-leaving-a-bad-taste-in-aphids-mouths).
