Undernutrition, and the inter-relationships between nutrition, growth and poverty in developing countries. Together with Professor Mascie-Taylor, conducted an eight year project in Bangladesh to lift 1 million extreme poor people out of poverty ended in September 2016 having exceeded the target. The project was awarded the 2016 British Expertise Award for Outstanding Leadership in International Development.
