Biography:

An economics graduate and chartered management accountant with a corporate background in business development, finance, operations, and marketing, Emma moved into the higher education sector in early 2012. Emma has over 15 years of people management, change and project leadership in large global organisations including IBM and The Boots Company (now Alliance Boots). She has run two consultancy businesses helping individuals and small businesses present themselves more favourably to potential clients.

Emma is passionate about encouraging and enabling others to perform their best. At IBM, she was a member of the UK Women’s Leadership Team and co-established their ‘Top Talent’ programme to identify, develop and retain early-career staff with leadership potential.

During her two years at Anglia Ruskin University’s business school, Emma worked with academics to update a curriculum to better meet changing market demands. She built relationships with schools and colleges to promote the benefits of a university education to those from backgrounds with low participation in higher education.
