Dr Katharina Kessler is a nutritional scientist based in the Biomineral Research Group at Cambridge University.


Katharina Kessler is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Cambridge. She holds a PhD in Medical Sciences and a MSc in Nutritional Sciences. Her research focuses on the effect of macronutrients, micronutrients (iron and silicon) and certain plant extracts on human health.

Katharina has a keen interest in science communication and has ongoing projects with partners in Nairobi, Kenya and Manaus, Brazil that aim at empowering local populations in resource-poor areas by introducing simple, low-tech applications. Much of her work is supported by Research England’s Global Challenges Research Fund.
