Biography:

Before joining the Institute for Manufacturing ("IfM"), Judith Shawcross worked at the Manchester Science Enterprise Centre developing and delivering innovative Enterprise programmes at both post graduate and undergraduate levels. She then moved on to be Course Director of the MSc in Science Entrepreneurship at Cass Business School.

Judith also has 15 years industrial experience in a major UK science and engineering company where she held a variety of roles including Manufacturing Management, Engineering Design and Project Management, Strategic Corporate Planning, Business Development and Human Resources Training and Development.

Judith Shawcross undertook a mix of teaching, training and research roles at IfM in the fields of Technology and Innovation Management and Transferrable Skills during the five years prior to starting her role in Executive and Professional Development in IfM Education and Consultancy Services (IfM ECS) in September 2012. Her focus is now the design, development and delivery of customised education programmes for corporate clients using the extensive expertise available at IfM. 

Her research interests in Education are now being pursued through her role as coordinator of the Manufacturing Industry Education Research Group and her doctoral studies. 

She has B.Eng. from Bristol University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
