I am interested in reconciling the (generally) competing interests of food production and biodiversity conservation. My current research project, a collaboration between the University of Cambridge and the RSPB, explores this trade-off in the English lowlands. Specifically, we are comparing the consequences of different food production strategies (under the land sparing-sharing framework) for farmland bird populations, greenhouse gas emissions and human recreation.
