In this half day course Steve Cross, founder of Bright Club, will be preparing you for live performance - finding the best way to share your intellectual passions in a style that suits you. Please note, this training session is only available to researchers within the Graduate School of Life Sciences as it has been generously supported by GSLS Researcher Development funding.

If selected, you will be asked to pay a £30 deposit in order to secure your place. This will be returned immediately after you attend the course.

Seasoned show-off, Steve Cross, founder of Bright Club and Clever Make Funny, is on the hunt for hidden talent in the murky depths of the School of Life Sciences. 
Steve is a geek comedian, presenter and producer. He trains all sorts of intellectual types to be funny using all sorts of performance genres; stand-up, poetry, theatre, interpretive dance (!) ...
In this half day course Steve will be preparing you for live performance - finding the best way to share your intellectual passions  in a style that suits you.
The session will be participatory and supportive, covering:
* Basics of stand-up comedy 
* Exercises to improve body language
* Group work to develop  material
* Using props, demos & PowerPoints

No prior performance experience is required but preference will be given to those who would consider taking part in a live show in the near future. The first opportunity to do so will be at a Biology Week cabaret night on the 10th of October.
