Public Engagement: Why, Who and What?

Speaker: Dr Lucinda Spokes, Head of Public Engagement, Office of External Affairs and Communications, University of Cambridge
The training session from 2 pm to 3:30 pm will include a presentation and practical exercises and will be followed by tea, coffee, cake and networking from 3:30 to 4 pm. Please find further information here.

How to Write and Submit Papers for Publication

From peer review and point size to successful abstracts and succinct sentences, this event will provide early career researchers with essential information about journal publishing.
Editors and academics will give attendees the inside track on best practice for writing and successfully submitting papers; from how to make a good first impression and tips for text that’s relevant and robust, to impact factors and rejection.
Speakers will include:

- Katie Henderson, Publishing Editor, Cambridge University Press,
- Representatives from the journal Plants People Planet.
Healthy Eco-Systems Ideation Workshop
Friday 14th October 2022 10am Venue: The Maxwell Centre, Cavendish Laboratory, JJ Thomson Avenue, Cambridge CB3 0HE
ECRs and PhD students will work in teams to devise ideas for solutions to the most pressing climate change questions related to healthy eco-systems. This event will be part of the Cambridge Zero Climate Change Festival 2022, and is organised jointly by the Interdisciplinary Research Centres on Energy, Global Food Security, Public Health and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.
