Cambridge Global Food Security

An Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge

The Rothamsted Open Innovation Forum is a new initiative designed to accelerate collaboration for the development of game-changing innovations addressing global food and nutrition security challenges. High-level industry experts will come together at Rothamsted Research in January 2017 to work collaboratively on cutting-edge solutions to issues spanning the entire agricultural ecosystem, from pre-farm gate to consumers’ plates. Register today to join them.

As part of the development team behind the launch of the very first annual Rothamsted Open Innovation Forum, I would like to welcome you to this site. We hope you are reading this because you share our commitment in finding solutions to some of the Key Global Food Security Challenges.

We have all heard the big figures on population growth, the limitations on yield, the nutritional challenges... I will leave it to you to read these elsewhere.. this forum is about action.

With your involvement, we aim to do two things..

  • Discovering an effective way that we can come together to start tackling those challenges by opening up and thereby accelerating the innovation process.
  • Bringing potential collaborators together from whatever background, to begin that process.

Please have a look around the website, contribute to the online blackboard and be part of what will we are sure will be a stimulating and action oriented event; located here in our world class conferencing facilities at Rothamsted near London, the oldest Agricultural research institute in the world.
