Cambridge Global Food Security

An Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge

Bringing interested researchers in agriculture, food, nutrition and health together to discuss potential projects for the call Food & nutrition research for health in the developing world: bioavailability & nutrient content.

Further details about the call are below and here.

Agriculture and food are intrinsically linked to nutrition and health, and this call aims to encourage a more joined up approach. The call is looking for interdisciplinary, collaborative research proposals to address developing world challenges in nutrition and nutrition-related health. These should increase our understanding and/or improve the nutritional quality of good produced, the nutritional needs of humans, and the biological mechanisms and consequences of nutrition on physical and cognitive health in the developing world.

We can apply for up to £2 million, for a project that should last for up to two years. This is part of the GCRF and projects must meet ODA criteria. Projects must be led by UK researchers, and partnerships with co-investigators in developing countries are strongly recommended.
