The Ecology Group blog reflects on the visit from Prof Graham Farquhar from the Australian National University who was in the UK to receive a Rank Prize Fund award for his contributions to food security by helping to guide the breeding of wheat varieties that use water more efficiently.
Prof Farquhar gave a talk entitled "Water user efficiency and water use effectiveness, a stomatal perspective using stable isotopes” .

The main research groups housed in the Department with interests in ecology are led by Prof Howard Griffiths (Physiological Ecology), Dr David Coomes (Forest Ecology and Conservation), Dr Edmund Tanner (Tropical Ecology), and Dr Andrew Tanentzap (Ecosystems and Global Change).
