Cambridge Global Food Security

An Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge

Soujanya is a research associate at IfM, currently working on food supply chains and digital interventions for the Mandala project.

Soujanya has a PhD in Industrial engineering and Information systems. The Manufacturing Academy of Denmark financed her PhD, where she worked closely with companies such as LEGO and Arla to apply her research on Industry 4.0 to improve supply chain operations. Before PhD, she has about five years of experience working in the industry and consulting.

Soujanya is passionate about advanced digital technologies and believes in their ability to resolve significant global challenges, such as food insecurity and supply chain disruptions. With a growing fascination for thinking machines, she likes to design information systems architectures drawing from stakeholder inputs to use modern artificial intelligence solutions and the internet of things.

Due to her climate change volunteering streak since high school, she volunteered for a few environmental groups, such as iycn.in, ecologise.in and Lamakaan in her hometown, Hyderabad, and briefly studied applications of sustainable technologies during her masters in Energy engineering (in Stockholm).
